statement
From a
professional perspective, I enjoy the diversity of speciality, and from a
personal perspective, my work in Assisted Reproduction gives me great
satisfaction.
I am considered
as a competent supportive colleague and a team player as I do my best to play
an active constructive role in all clinical activities. I believe that my deep
enjoyment of my job brings a sense of calm and order to patients at anxious and
sometimes a difficult times in their lives.
In addition, I
believe that my enthusiasm and my interest in the job create a relaxed
enjoyable environment in traditionally highly stressful moments for childless
couples undergoing fertility treatment, namely during IVF cycle.
Overall, I feel
privileged in being able to play an important role in what is a unique moment
in a couple’s life.

Rotunda Hospital:
This was a
senior registrar post with clinical and management duties at one of the busiest
maternity hospitals in the heart of Dublin.
The Rotunda
is a tertiary referral centre delivering over 8600 mothers per annum with
various subspecialty services.
Aims &
Career Objectives
My long-term
career aim is to work as a distinguished Consultant Obstetrician and
Gynaecologist with special interest in Infertility and Minimal access surgery.
I have had the
opportunity to obtain the best and up to date training in Obstetrics and
Gynaecology over 9 years period in the Republic of Ireland.
I have been
exposed to invaluable clinical experience in the main tertiary hospitals and
Centres of excellence in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick.
Furthermore, I
completed a Clinical Fellowship in Human Reproduction and Assisted Conception
(IVF) at the Human Assisted Reproduction Ireland (HARI) as special interest.
Research has
been an important part of my training to date. Optimal patient care is a
priority within the profession and evidence-based medicine plays a pivotal role
in developing guidelines and procedures.
I have had the
opportunity to lecture both undergraduate and postgraduate students and have
enjoyed this immensely and I wish to continue.
I believe that
I have a lot to contribute in the area of thought leadership, and in the
evolution of the profession from a combination of research and participation in
the academic arena.
